This article's review of Asus MyPal A636N. This is a PDA and GPS into one, and runs Windows Mobile. There are other similar products, but for the price and features, you can not go wrong. These devices are already some time ago, and the A639 has been recently published which replaces the A636 series. The 839 is much more expensive (and has some better features), but this is A636N real value for money.
In any case, let the features and specifications ......

The main differences between the A636N andA636 is the A636 only 11M wireless and Bluetooth 1.1. In addition, the A636N allowed through the USB port on a PC loaded, while the A636 is not smaller. Unfortunately, both have a USB 1.1 interface. USB 2.0 was introduced in the A639.
GPS navigation that use the TomTom software. You can purchase a package with the GPS software CoPilot A636N is, but everything I read convinced me that TomTom are betetr. It works well on this unit. Just when I contactA636N display on the side for better viewing of maps / routes. From what was around the net, the GPS chip SiRF StarIII (which A636N) was a must, based on satellite faster than other chips cut blocks and read better. Not a problem. The GPS antenna is on a swivel mount that folds neatly behind the unit when not in use.
The other important consideration when buying a handheld, but I have one with a removable battery - the Asus has come. If the batteryfails, then all you have to do is to replace, do not send the whole unit away for repair. I'm not sure what the battery life, and I had to go for me still flat. This is because when I drive with the GPS, the A636N is always charged at the same time. I have maintained for some time, expense and I noticed the power drain is quite significant.
So far to go from the PDA to run things like all the others are in PDA. Windows Mobile Pocket is perfect, andConnectivity to other devices via Bluetooth and wireless is easy. Installing applications via USB connection to a PC with Microsoft ActiveSync.
Pocket door similar to a real Windows PC with Microsoft Word, Excel by default. There's also a File Explorer, Control Panel, and even Internet Explorer if your Internet connection on the PDA, Bluetooth or access. So, if Windows worked, will not be on thisdifficult.
The only thing a little 'getting used to, takes the pen for input, but there are different procedures for the entry of a pseudo-played keyboard on the screen (where you can tap the letter you want), a typist mode where you can write, as usual with a pen. The Asus is very good for interpret your writing "style".
What really impressed me is that with the A636N comes with all cables and adapters required - including the suction cup (and charger) forCar when you use the GPS function. Like a good case for the anointed was included. The only purchase I had to do a decent sized SD memory card to store all my data. The Asus comes with a 64MB card. Memory cards have come in much money in recent years, so that additional cost was not too bad on the wallet.
Overall, I think the A636N Asus is a great product at a reasonable price. Equipped with features, really do not know what would have otherwise PDS / GPS combo favorite- In addition to USB 2.0. And 'certainly a step forward from my old Palm Pilot screen.
